Bikram + run + biking = Bikeran (Bike-ran)

It’s 9 am and today I have already

  • Gone to an hour of Bikram
  • Ran 2.5 miles
  • Biked to the grocery store and back

I also had una desauna deliciosa:

You were mighty tasty, yes indeed.

You were mighty tasty, yes indeed.

1/2 cup Fiber 1, 1 cup Special K Protein Plus (I adore this cereal, HFCS can kiss my booty), 1/2 cup skim milk, 3 GINORMOUS strawberries. I also had some coffee with some half-and-half.

That right there is a breakfast of champions. It was delicious, I felt like I was indulging, and I was wholly satiated with just 315 calories. Boom. I’m all about protein. I’m all about fiber. That baby had both. WINNER!

Happy Friday party people!

Also check out my boy’s blog from India: www.nocrustnoproblem.wordpress.com. That boy cracks me up.

Don’t forget to lather up your sunscreen!!! 🙂

Hey there blog world,

Big thanks to everyone for the kind words of support, understanding, and love. Really helps. This weekend I went out dancing, went to my boyfriend’s houseboat for early Easter, and had a Indian buffet for new admits into my Ed program.

During all these events I tried to stay centered and focus on my body. Some challenges:

  1. Stopping at the right amount of “full” and not having “just one more taste”
  2. I am a MAJOR grazer in the kitchen
  3. I notice when I start to feel out of control, I want to count calories, go workout, etc.

I did my best, but seriously need to work on the first and second items. Also, I tried really hard on #3, but I think working on items 1 and 2 will help impact the last. Anyone else struggle with these things? I am eating more slowly, concentrating on taste, picking my favorite items and sticking to them, and not overdoing exercise.

Speaking of exercise- I LOVE TO BIKE! It’s my new found joy. Yesterday I went mountain biking for the first time— it was pretty scary, especially going down a steep, narrow, rocky path, but I just had to trust myself, focus, let go, and do it. In short that is what I am trying to do now- trust in myself and the future, focus on what needs to happen NOW, let go of worry/fear/doubt, and do what I need to do right now.

Here is a picture of my absolute favorite California eat that I have found in local coffee shops in the area my friend and I are trying to recreate in the near future:

Anyone know what this is? Any guesses? I can eat one in the morning and stay full for HOURS. Plus it takes awhile to eat it is so incredibly dense. I’ll reveal this California creation later when I try to recreate it!

How are you honoring yourself today?

Daily Joy- Meeting new admits into the program who are dedicated to improving education.

Hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic Saturday!

Here is the pic of Pork & Apple Pie:

Tastes way better than it sounds or looks

Tastes way better than it sounds or looks

Last night while my boy ate Pork and Apple Pie, he asked if I would bike with him to the gym, work out, and bike back. Of course I agreed! So this morning I munched on two of these:

Then we hit the sidewalk. We biked about 43:30, got to my apartment (which is right by the gym). At this point I was HUNGRY so I had a snack-

Half of this

Half of this

1/2 0% Greek Yogurt + 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein powder

1/2 0% Greek Yogurt + 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein powder

I love my protein powder, greek yogurt combo- like chocolate pudding- except protein-alicious!

Then we walked half mile to the gym, did 30 minutes of weights, 30 minutes of elliptical, walked a half mile back. By this time we were REALLY hungry, so I made us a green monster! HE LOVED IT!!

He almost finished it before I could snap a pic

In the mix: cup spinach, 2 T Dark Chocolate Dreams, 1 scoop Chocolate Whey Protein powder, 1 cup light plain soy milk, 1/2 banana, 3 strawberries, 1/4 cup blue berries, 1 T flax seeds. He had about 3/4 and I had the rest and some golean with soy milk (not pictured) and the other half of my greek yogurt with protein powder. We then headed back and made it home in about 38 minutes. We had no idea how far we biked, so I plugged it in mapmyrun.com and it turned out to be 14.4 miles! Holy cow. So much fun 🙂

I snacked on this bar:

I love it!! It tasted like peanut butter!!! So full of good fats and protein and I can read all the ingredients. I think it’s love. Definitely a meal replacement, but a worthy one. The boy snacked on Pork & Apple Pie (I snuck some too), then my hunger came screaming back and I had some Quaker WeightControl Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal.

Halfway through- you can see evidence on the side of the bowl

Sigh. I love that stuff. I haven’t had it in months, but I found a packet I had left over here, and it’s such a wonderful and filling snack!

In a little bit I’m heading to a natural yogurt place for “appetizers” with one of my friends 🙂 They sell Zico and I’m psyched to try one!

What is your favorite post-workout treat? Mine would have to be a green monster!

What was your joy today?
