Humpday Hangover

Hey y’all!

I have class on Wednesdays from 10am-10:30pm, so yesterday was a crazy day. I finally got home at 11:45 and was so wound up I couldn’t even fathom sleep until 1 am. I keep thinking I should do some yoga to make me start to slow down. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I went to sleep with the intention of doing 3 miles and strength training first thing, but woke up hungry, tired, and overwhelmed. So I got up and made this delicious concoction and did an easy level of Jillian Michael’s 30-Day-Shred:

1/2 cup TJ’s oatbran, 1/2 banana, 1/2 c water, 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk, 1 T pb. Looks bland, but tasted good and filled me up for several hours. However, I wish it looked a whole heckuva lot more like this. I mean, so droolworthy! I aspire to that!

I had to get some work done (I had a presentation), so I threw together a lunch and snack to get me until 5:

Chobani vanilla, blueberries, black berries, 2T pumpkin, other half my banana, crushed walnuts

I think the Chocolate Brownie is way too sweet for a snack as it doesn’t leave me fully satiated. Next week I want to have more salads in my life…

Speaking of which, I met up with a friend for dinner at Sprout- this amazing make your own salad place. I had: tofu, avocado, cucumber, broccoli, red pepper, celery, and apple, with balsamic on the side to dip in. DIVINE. I wish wish wish I had a picture of it. Sad.

25!

Today I was going to be all snazzy and upload pictures of what I made to eat, but I think it will have to wait until I find the cord that connects my Nikon D40 camera to my computer. This is the 2nd time I’ve misplaced it! It’s a slippery bugger.

I started with 1/2 a Cool Mint Clif Bar (CRAZY DELICIOUS) then went on a quick 4 mile run with cool down and stretching. It was a crisp, sunny 35 degrees out, so I layered up, although I quickly shed a few. Running felt wonderful, and stretching afterwards was something I enjoyed more today than I have in the past. I definitely need to incorporate that more. I also want to run more again. I really do miss it- I just need to take care of myself!

For breakfast I had 1/2 cup Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain Hot Cereal with 1/2 cup chocolate soy milk, 1/2 cup water, 1 small banana, and a TBSP of crunchy PB. After sitting down, ready to eat, I thought it was missing something, so I added 2 cut up strawberries, which was DELISH! Might have to do that more often 🙂

Even though it’s my birthday I still have to study and go to 6 hours of class (boo!). Since I spent an inordinate amount of time looking for my mysterious camera cord, I’m a bit behind schedule.

Today marks the last day of being 24. I woke up early and did The Bar Method “Shape Your Body” dvd while the boy slept in. Before this, I munched on half a Clif Bar. After a great morning, stretching and burning (who knew little movements could burn so much??), I created a delicious breakfast of oats cooked with a banana, chocolate soy milk, and water. Then finished with some peanut butter on the side, so I could make sure to have some in every bite. Nothing is complete without PB!! It kept me full for the rest of the day! I can’t wait to continue experimenting with oats.

In honor of 25, I have some goals for myself:

  1. Do yoga at least 2x a week
  2. Eat foods that sustain me
  3. Strength train at least 3x a week
  4. Cardio 5 x a week
  5. MOST IMPORTANTLY, love my body for all that it does every day.

And now to do more reading before a late night study session with some friends…
