In the mix: 1/2 cup oat bran, scoop Designer Whey Chocolate protein, 1/4 banana, 1/2 T Maple PB

So good, so filling, and a delicious way to start Friday.So y’all, my workout on Tuesday has totally killed my body. Every, I mean EVERY, muscle aches, from my tummy, to my neck, to my legs. Holy cow. Note to self: NEVER DO 7 MILES OF SPRINT INTERVALS AGAIN. I somehow managed to slowly bike to the gym to do a SLOOOOOOW 4 miles with just four uphills at a quicker (i.e. my usual) pace. I did it, it felt great, although my knee was a little rickety 😦 When I got back, all I wanted in the world was a delicious, nutricious, green monster:

In the mix: cup frozen spinach, cup light plain soy milk, scoop designer chocolate protein, 1/2 banana, 1 T flax seeds. DELICIOUS! Sorry it’s sideways, I’m too lazy to fix it – spring break has gotten to my head. hehehe.

I had a busy day of doing… nothing 🙂 Love spring break! I am reading People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks and am really enjoying it! It is so nice to read for fun. Also today one of my former first graders called me to see where I was and to tell me she was working hard in 2nd grade. It really made my day to have her call me.  She asked if I was being a good student and I said, “Yes, but I have so much reading!” She says, “Tell me about it!” HAHA so amazing. I miss my babies (i.e. students) so much, but I’m not sure the classroom is where I belong right now… we’ll see.

Tonight for my boy I made him some Pork and Apple Pie- it’s a delicious and filling recipe that we love. He grew up eating it. I’ll take pics and add them tomorrow- it takes a while to cook. By the time it’s out I’ll be tired of already blogging twice in one night.

This was one night- I was SO hungry I didn’t even take off my backpack when cooking up dinner… and yes, it was kale… yum.

I was doing Jillian’s Level 2 at his place and forgot my 3lb weights. The weights on the floor are 25 lbs each!! Yikes!! He kept laughing at me, but no worries y’all, I stayed focused 🙂

What is something that you do that your close friends/family/s.o. think is hilarious?

At the end of each post I want to write a Daily Joy. When my father was ill he told us to try to find the joy in each day. I want to keep doing that. So, at the end of each blog I will write my daily joy.

Hello World,

I’m back from Vegas and we had so much fun! We left up $20 🙂 And I was able to get my daily PB fix thanks to Justin’s natural PB packs!

I am pretty tired from lack of sleep and an insane 7.75 mile run this morning- I went a little interval crazy. I meant to do just 4 miles, but clearly kept on going. I have a gazillion posts to catch up on, but I hope to be back to full blogging force soon.

30-Day Shred Challenge is in limbo- hard to do with no computer, no dvd player, and no weights.

Yoga Challenge is in better shape- gotta love uploading it onto my Shuffle and doing it before bed 🙂

Anyone ever have a Kashi Roll? I absolutely love them!

Yes, ’tis true- I’m blogging from the library and PROUD OF IT! I have so much work to do in the next few days (the quarter system is crazy people!) that it has been hard to find time to blog. However, I am sure you didn’t miss me.

Last night I got out all my eats for today including pre-10k snack, post-10k protein-hearthealthyoat-packed Fitnessista breakfast cookie (wanted something filling, yet cold while I was a sweaty mess), snacks, and lunch. I have dinner planned between my late classes tonight.

For you visual people here are my eats (pardon the 5 am photography):

A PB (mmmmm!) Chocolate Luna Cookie. It was no Mint Chocolate, like lovely Heather enjoys (and I think is my favorite too), but with PB in it- I was a fan. I also downed some coffee, but I was so groggy I don’t even remember drinking it. I live in a studio so my coffee maker is my alarm. I’m worried someday I’ll just drink it out of the coffee pot…

I ran with my friend. We wanted to do about six. Both of us were exhausted, but she has a Garmin Nuvi and that thing is the BOMB! It was so encouraging to know how far we had gone. Anyone have one? Are you happy with it? After my 6.23 miler I chugged a HUGE sigg of h2o and slowly ate this MASSIVE bfast cookie (3/4 cup oats, T DCD dreams PB [review coming soon!], 1 scoop Whole Foods Soy Protein Powder, 1/2 banana, stevia, 1/4 c light soy milk):

May not look big, but boy, that sucker’s got depth. I barely ate it all! But I consider myself a breakfast champion and know how to put it away with the best of them..(it may have taken me a solid 40 minutes to eat though…)

2. Yes I plan on cooking the burger before I eat it. But they expire today. Thoughts on it still being good tomorrow? I don’t know if I can eat two in one day!

I know some of you dislike Kombucha. I really enjoy it… but then again, I think I get a weird buzz from it… anyone else? Guava is my FAVE.


  • 30-Day Shred– A little on hold this week as I am prioritizing cardio and yoga, but plan to start it back up asap.
  • Yoga– I AM SO IN LOVE. It calms me when I need calming, makes me feel strong when I feel weak, and rejuvenates me like nothing else. Wow. I love Hatha, Power, everything I’ve tried. I’m easy, I guess 🙂

BLACK AND WHITE!!! SO FREAKING AMAZING. My mom and I were simply waxing petic on this tasty morsel of heaven. I hope we meet again… The red velvet was good too, but really only because the cream cheese frosting was divine and that was mostly what you tasted.

  • PB and Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl is next on my agenda!

Ok, time for me to actually research Zero Tolerance in schools, read about Non-Profit Management, and hydrate some more.

I am not sure I slept a wink last night 😦 But I woke up ready for some Jillian Michael’s Level 2. Since I was pretty hungry I started with this snack:


But, y’all… it does NOT look like a cookie! What cookie is SQUARE?


That’s okay, though. It’s thinking outside the circle. Plus it was delicious and carried me through Jillian Michaels Level 2, mile run, 30 minutes elliptical, and a computer crash. A+ Luna.

I also booked a ticket to go visit my sister in Seattle in April! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

After all this I decided to make a Lean Green Fighting Machine Smoothie.

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup chopped kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 T ground flax
  • 1/2 scoop protein powder
  • 1 cup Silk Plain Soy Milk

And the most amazing addition:

  • 1 T Dark Chocolate Dreams PB

Can’t say I wasn’t a little scared about the mix, but I LOVED it!!!


I could really taste the DCD PB! It was absolutely wonderful.

Green Monster Smoothie- A+.

For lunch I’m planning on getting my cereal and greek yogurt fix in for the day. Yippee!

After rocking through Level 3 of 30-Day Shred and 45-minute Power Vinyasa Flow, I was a sweaty and HUNGRY minx.

I couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted to eat, except to know I wanted something savory, something PB, and something sweet. I came up with these:

Other 1/2 Ezekiel Tortilla, PB & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams, Sliced Strawberry… THIS WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!! I highly recommend this combination. Yum yum in my tum tum.

Strawberry Chobani, Vanilla Munch Galaxy Granola, Kashi Puffed Cereal. I like flavored Chobani but I wish it had the protein punch that Fage has.

Woke up this morning to an email saying I had a paper due by 10 am. My morning workout went out the window and I cranked out the paper while eating banana-cocoa-egg-white oatbran (no picture since I was in paper-mode). This breakfast held me for a SOLID three hours. Yay! Afterwards I decided to go to my favorite store in the world: Whole Foods.

I found lots of gems including these:



After I go to the grocery store, especially Whole Foods, I always want to try everything I have just bought. Instead I picked one to have with my Bender inspired coffee cocoa:

THIS LUNA BAR IS SO DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! I highly recommend it!

Today I have had no peanut butter! Yikes! Hopefully I’ll have some soon…

But now I’m going to finish some research then do some Jillian Michaels (woo 30-Day challenge!) and some Power Vinyasa 2 from yogadownload.com. I need to center myself before a very long 6 hours of class.
