Last night while my boy ate Pork and Apple Pie, he asked if I would bike with him to the gym, work out, and bike back. Of course I agreed! So this morning I munched on two of these:

Then we hit the sidewalk. We biked about 43:30, got to my apartment (which is right by the gym). At this point I was HUNGRY so I had a snack-

1/2 0% Greek Yogurt + 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein powder

I love my protein powder, greek yogurt combo- like chocolate pudding- except protein-alicious!

Then we walked half mile to the gym, did 30 minutes of weights, 30 minutes of elliptical, walked a half mile back. By this time we were REALLY hungry, so I made us a green monster! HE LOVED IT!!

In the mix: cup spinach, 2 T Dark Chocolate Dreams, 1 scoop Chocolate Whey Protein powder, 1 cup light plain soy milk, 1/2 banana, 3 strawberries, 1/4 cup blue berries, 1 T flax seeds. He had about 3/4 and I had the rest and some golean with soy milk (not pictured) and the other half of my greek yogurt with protein powder. We then headed back and made it home in about 38 minutes. We had no idea how far we biked, so I plugged it in mapmyrun.com and it turned out to be 14.4 miles! Holy cow. So much fun 🙂

I love it!! It tasted like peanut butter!!! So full of good fats and protein and I can read all the ingredients. I think it’s love. Definitely a meal replacement, but a worthy one. The boy snacked on Pork & Apple Pie (I snuck some too), then my hunger came screaming back and I had some Quaker WeightControl Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal.

Sigh. I love that stuff. I haven’t had it in months, but I found a packet I had left over here, and it’s such a wonderful and filling snack!

In a little bit I’m heading to a natural yogurt place for “appetizers” with one of my friends 🙂 They sell Zico and I’m psyched to try one!

Yes, ’tis true- I’m blogging from the library and PROUD OF IT! I have so much work to do in the next few days (the quarter system is crazy people!) that it has been hard to find time to blog. However, I am sure you didn’t miss me.

Last night I got out all my eats for today including pre-10k snack, post-10k protein-hearthealthyoat-packed Fitnessista breakfast cookie (wanted something filling, yet cold while I was a sweaty mess), snacks, and lunch. I have dinner planned between my late classes tonight.

For you visual people here are my eats (pardon the 5 am photography):

A PB (mmmmm!) Chocolate Luna Cookie. It was no Mint Chocolate, like lovely Heather enjoys (and I think is my favorite too), but with PB in it- I was a fan. I also downed some coffee, but I was so groggy I don’t even remember drinking it. I live in a studio so my coffee maker is my alarm. I’m worried someday I’ll just drink it out of the coffee pot…

I ran with my friend. We wanted to do about six. Both of us were exhausted, but she has a Garmin Nuvi and that thing is the BOMB! It was so encouraging to know how far we had gone. Anyone have one? Are you happy with it? After my 6.23 miler I chugged a HUGE sigg of h2o and slowly ate this MASSIVE bfast cookie (3/4 cup oats, T DCD dreams PB [review coming soon!], 1 scoop Whole Foods Soy Protein Powder, 1/2 banana, stevia, 1/4 c light soy milk):

May not look big, but boy, that sucker’s got depth. I barely ate it all! But I consider myself a breakfast champion and know how to put it away with the best of them..(it may have taken me a solid 40 minutes to eat though…)

2. Yes I plan on cooking the burger before I eat it. But they expire today. Thoughts on it still being good tomorrow? I don’t know if I can eat two in one day!

I know some of you dislike Kombucha. I really enjoy it… but then again, I think I get a weird buzz from it… anyone else? Guava is my FAVE.

CHALLENGE UPDATE:

  • 30-Day Shred– A little on hold this week as I am prioritizing cardio and yoga, but plan to start it back up asap.
  • Yoga– I AM SO IN LOVE. It calms me when I need calming, makes me feel strong when I feel weak, and rejuvenates me like nothing else. Wow. I love Hatha, Power, everything I’ve tried. I’m easy, I guess 🙂

BLACK AND WHITE!!! SO FREAKING AMAZING. My mom and I were simply waxing petic on this tasty morsel of heaven. I hope we meet again… The red velvet was good too, but really only because the cream cheese frosting was divine and that was mostly what you tasted.

PEANUT BUTTER REVIEW UPDATE:

  • PB and Co Dark Chocolate Dreams coming as soon as finals end
  • PB and Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl is next on my agenda!

Ok, time for me to actually research Zero Tolerance in schools, read about Non-Profit Management, and hydrate some more.

Quick update from the land of Juli and her mom!

Today we had oatbran again (mmm) then we went on a tough five mile hike. It was awesome to spend time with my mom and in such a beautiful place. We then came back and I worked while she cleaned my entire apartment! Granted it’s teensy, but still, I am so grateful.

We then went to lunch at this great high-end Whole-Foods-esque market for lunch. I noshed on a Sesame Tofu and grilled veggie salad while she had a turkey, avocado, and tomato baguette.

Then we shopped in the market and we each got treats.

She loves the KIND bars and the Luna bars. In her words, when she tried the Luna, “Oh no. This is too good.” Hehehe.

My treats (I AM SO EXCITED!)-

This place had Mighty Maple and Bees Knees! I want to try them now but I’m waiting since I had an even better treat coming up. I also was psyched to find a Peanut Butter Chocolate Luna cookie! Didn’t even know they existed.

Then- we got US a treat!

(Sadly not vegan for my vegan friends out there…but maybe the flavors will provide inspiration, hehe, for say, a cupcake blondie? 😉 )

I am not sure I slept a wink last night 😦 But I woke up ready for some Jillian Michael’s Level 2. Since I was pretty hungry I started with this snack:

That’s okay, though. It’s thinking outside the circle. Plus it was delicious and carried me through Jillian Michaels Level 2, mile run, 30 minutes elliptical, and a computer crash. A+ Luna.

I also booked a ticket to go visit my sister in Seattle in April! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

After all this I decided to make a Lean Green Fighting Machine Smoothie.

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup chopped kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 T ground flax
  • 1/2 scoop protein powder
  • 1 cup Silk Plain Soy Milk

And the most amazing addition:

  • 1 T Dark Chocolate Dreams PB

Can’t say I wasn’t a little scared about the mix, but I LOVED it!!!

I could really taste the DCD PB! It was absolutely wonderful.

Green Monster Smoothie- A+.

For lunch I’m planning on getting my cereal and greek yogurt fix in for the day. Yippee!

Woke up this morning to an email saying I had a paper due by 10 am. My morning workout went out the window and I cranked out the paper while eating banana-cocoa-egg-white oatbran (no picture since I was in paper-mode). This breakfast held me for a SOLID three hours. Yay! Afterwards I decided to go to my favorite store in the world: Whole Foods.

I found lots of gems including these:

THIS LUNA BAR IS SO DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! I highly recommend it!

Today I have had no peanut butter! Yikes! Hopefully I’ll have some soon…

But now I’m going to finish some research then do some Jillian Michaels (woo 30-Day challenge!) and some Power Vinyasa 2 from yogadownload.com. I need to center myself before a very long 6 hours of class.
