Vegas Part 2

Hey there folks!

I got ahold of my boyfriend’s camera and have more pics from Vegas, including our delicious meal at the Mesa Grill.

First Night Explorations:

This dish was absolutely delicious. I hear “Duck” and I want to run the other way, but I tried a bite and it was a wonderful combination of flavors!

Fuji Apple Salad

This combination of flavors was brilliant- spicy sauce, yet crisp apples, blue cheese, and walnuts. A +

Again, delicious blend of flavors.

Then our main courses came out and we ate them without photographing them 🙂 We did however take a couple shot:

And Tommy got a special photo too:

After dinner we headed to Cirque which was amazing, but no pictures allowed:(

Alright friends, that’s all for Vegas. It was such a fun trip- and dinner was a highlight!

I’ll leave you with a fountain shot:

Viva las Vegas

Okay, as requested here is a sampling of my trip!

After doing half of P90x Synergistics and a quick 4-mile run, my boyfriend and our close friend (and an amazing, intelligent, and hilarious guy) left on Sunday and headed to Vegas. I really wish I hadn’t put my camera in the trunk as the geography was gorgeous. We drove from the Bay Area down to Vegas so we saw lush rolling green mountains, an ENORMOUS resevoir that was beautiful, and then desert full of cacti. We got in, checked into the Monte Carlo and began walking around. My boyfriend put a dollar in a slot machine, pulled it twice and kept losing. I pulled it and we won! I immediately hit “Cash Out” and walked away with a voucher for $1.25. A 25% increase in our money! hehehe 🙂 We saw a fountain show at the Bellagio, to Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to The Moon, which I loved. We walked around the Bellagio, which has stunning Dave Chihuly everywhere, a wonderful garden, and a chocolate fountain. Again, I was lame and forgot my camera (and it’s a large Nikon D40 so not that easy to walk around with). We also wandered around Ceasar’s Palace and made dinner reservations at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill for the next night!

The next day our friend Tommy and I went on a fast 3 mile run (22 minutes!) down the strip before we explored. I would recommend going before 9 am, because we did quite a bit of dodging and weaving! I gobbled down some Starbucks oatmeal and we were off! First we booked tickets to see Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere after our dinner. I was so excited.

Here are some pics of our day walking around (We walked 6 miles!)

After the Venetian we explored Paris and headed back to swim a bit and go to dinner and the show. Dinner was DIVINE- it made me understand what it means to eat quality v. quantity. I was so satiated with just a bit because the food was so wonderful it made anything else seem like a waste of time. Haha. Cirque was fabulous as well- the flexibility and strength of the performers was stunning. It was also such a funny show:) We tried to go dancing, but it was a bit ridiculous trying to get in, so we went to New York, New York instead and enjoyed an amazing show at a bar of Dueling Pianos. We played a bit of blackjack then hit the sack.

All in all it was a great trip. Not much gambling, but I love any place you can explore by foot. I would return in a heartbeat for the shows and good food.

Whew long post- well, lots of pics. I hope the captions show- if the don’t let me know and I’ll fix it! I’m off to do some in-house Bikram (my muscles ache and are so tired from yesterday!) and other errands. Have a great day!

What is your favorite place to visit?

Hello World,

I’m back from Vegas and we had so much fun! We left up $20 🙂 And I was able to get my daily PB fix thanks to Justin’s natural PB packs!

I am pretty tired from lack of sleep and an insane 7.75 mile run this morning- I went a little interval crazy. I meant to do just 4 miles, but clearly kept on going. I have a gazillion posts to catch up on, but I hope to be back to full blogging force soon.

30-Day Shred Challenge is in limbo- hard to do with no computer, no dvd player, and no weights.

Yoga Challenge is in better shape- gotta love uploading it onto my Shuffle and doing it before bed 🙂

Anyone ever have a Kashi Roll? I absolutely love them!

xoxo,

PB and Jules

Whew.

Hello blog friends-

I finished finals! YAY! After averaging about 5 hours of sleep a night for a few days there, I’ve been in quite a haze. It was wonderful having my mother in town and I miss her already (she left this morning). Early tomorrow my boyfriend, one of our close friends, and myself are headed to VEGAS! I’ve never been, so it should be interesting. I apologize for continuing to be M.I.A. but I have been reading your blogs (such a great study break!). I can’t wait to write my review for Dark Chocolate Dreams and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.

Thank you for the studying well-wishes and advice over the past week! It really helped 🙂

Y’all are the best and I’ll try to be back to the blogging world soon.

In the mean time- any Vegas suggestions?

xoxo,

Juli
